Sjrogen Syndrome
Sjrogen Syndrome is a systemic disorder that results in dry mouth, decreased tearing and dry mucus membranes and is often associated with autoimmune rheumatic conditions.
Causes of Sjrogen Syndrome
The cause of Sjrogen Syndrome is not known. It generally affects women between forty and fifty and, in older sufferers, usually presents with an autoimmune disorder.
Symptoms of Sjrogen Syndrome
- cloudy cornea
- dental cavities
- difficulty swallowing
- dry and itching eyes
- dryness of the mouth
- fatigue
- hoarseness
- loss of taste sensation
- joint pain and swelling
- swollen glands
Treatments of Sjrogen Syndrome
The symptoms of Sjrogen Syndrome are treated or, at least, relieved. Dry eye treaments include artifical tears, eyedrops and lubricating ointments (as per the other conditions discussed on this site).
Complications of Sjrogen Syndrome
Though the disorder itself is benign, there are some serious complications associated with Sjrogen Syndrome. These include pulmonary infection, kidney disease and lymphoma.
