Conjunctivitis
Conjunctivitis is caused by an inflammation or infection of the membrane lining the eyelids. There are two types: Allergic Conjunctivitis, caused by a reaction to pollen, etc, and Inflammation Conjunctivitis that is caused by bacteria, an irritant or a viral infection (known as Pink Eye).
Symptoms of Conjunctivitis
In general, the symptoms of conjunctivitis are :
- blurred vision
- crusts forming on the eyelid overnight
- feeling of something in the eyes
- increased tearing
- itching/soreness in the eye
- light sensitivity
- pain in the eyes
- redness in the eyes
Allergic Conjunctivitis sufferers will also experience :
- excessive tearing
- puffy eyes, especially in the mornings
