The Symptoms of Dry Eyes
The most notable symptoms of Dry Eye Syndrome are :
- blurred vision
- burning sensation
- light sensitivity
- red eyes
- sensation of having something in your eye
- severe itching
Generally, these symptoms worsen when the climate is dry or windy, at the end of the day and after prolonged periods of holding your focus (computer use, for example).
Oddly, excessive tearing is also a common symptom of Dry Eye Syndrome. This is because the dryness and discomfort causes your body to react and so it produces large quantities of tears immediately. Unfortunately, your eyes can only hold so much liquid and the tears are wasted; leaving your eyes as uncomfortable as before.
