Exposure To The Sun and Dark Circles Under The Eyes

darkcirclesAs mentioned above, exposure to the sun's rays can damage the skin. This is true for any part of the body but it is particularly important for the face and eyes as the skin is already thinner than elsewhere.

Over exposure to the sun should be avoided. When going out in bright sunlight, you should apply plenty of high Sun Protection Factor sunscreen. You should also wear a hat and cover as much of your body as possible.

There is, of course, a very simple method of avoiding the sun's rays: stay out of the sun. This is hardly practical, though. Instead, take the precautions noted above. Make sure you rub sun lotion on the face and around the eyes. Be carefully to avoid getting cream in to your eyes.

Always wear sunglasses in bright sunlight.

It's very important to find a good pair of sunglasses. They should cover the region of your eyes completely and the lenses must guard your eyes against ultra violet radiation. When trying on sunglasses before you buy them, check if you can see your eyes in the mirror when looking through them. If you can see your eyes through the lenses, the sunglasses aren't strong enough and won't sufficiently protect your eyes or the skin around them.
